Laura’s Blog …………………………………. Leah’s Blog

Gold Coast of Down Under Meets West Coast of U.S.

My intentions are as follows:

  • To blog everyday and support the entire OnePinky.com community and I especially want to support Leah in Miami, Australia who approached me with this vision.
  • To hold Leah’s vision and support her accountability to the work of Body Image Mastery, the 12 week course and her goals to release weight and go on a deeper inner journey of discovering herself.
  • Through the work of OnePinky.com community and Body Image Mastery, attract millions of women worldwide and help free them from the negative body image they have and support them in letting go of any extra baggage that may come in the form of weight.
  • To challenge my body physically, release 5 lbs. and build more muscle strength, do a minimum of 20 boy pushups easily, nose to the ground.
  • To embrace the Fall season open heartedly and to remember to remember what I value and what matters most to me. :) :):)

As Maya Angelou said, “Nothing dims the light that shines from within”. Laura and Leah’s intention is to shine together across the seas and over the land and be the light we want to see in the world by leading by example to this OnePinky community all over the world.

I loved today’s post today Leah even the title was great.

We all know that our greatest challenges are our greatest gifts and here is a little story to share about why obstacles are disguised opportunities.

Another Important Lesson

Obstacles help us to improve ourselves.

In ancient times, a King had a boulder placed on a roadway. Then he hid himself and watched to see if anyone would remove the huge rock.

Some of the king’s wealthiest merchants and courtiers came by and simply walked around it. Many loudly blamed the king for not keeping the roads clear, but none did anything about getting the stone out of the way.

Then a peasant came along carrying a load of vegetables. Upon approaching the boulder, the peasant laid down his burden and tried to move the stone to the side of the road. After much pushing and straining, he finally succeeded.

After the peasant picked up his load of vegetables, he noticed a purse lying in the road where the boulder had been. The purse contained many gold coins and a note from the king indicating that the gold was for the person who removed the boulder from the roadway.

The peasant learned what many of us never understand. Every obstacle presents an opportunity to improve our condition.

Speaking of overcoming obstacles, I asked OnePinky member Corrine what she is getting from being in Body Image Mastery. I loved what she had to share. Leah, please note the impact you have on women all over the world. Thank you for that.

Here are a few things that came to Corrine’s mind that she agreed to let me share.

1. Meeting Leah – my relationship with her has been an unexpected joy in my life – i look forward to our daily emails -the inspiration and comfort they bring.
2. My 30 Day Challenge – given me the drive to make working out a part of my life – YA!
3. Recognizing the importantance of being present and “releasing that which no longer serves me”

xoxo,
c

Thank you to all you Pinky’s who are on to my XO’s.

The world needs more love….As far as I am concerned the more love that goes out in the world, the more love the world can receive. There is no such thing as too much LOVE.

SO LOVE and HUGS to you all, now and always.

XO, Laura

Day 81 – Thank you!

Hey L!

I know that we have 10 days left to this challenge, hard to believe, 3 months does fly by. All good.

I am very sentimental and will always hold this time as so special, so kind and generous and loving of you Leah. To offer it, to follow through, to be YOU!

The words of Natalie Merchant came over me today and I want to start by thanking you, today and tomorrow and everyday for what you have given me.

Thank you and love to your committment to being you, leading by example.

And thank you to all you beauties out there all over the world who are walking your talk and living your dreams. Just go for it. Why not?

I Love you, Laura

Natalie Merchant
Thank You lyrics

Lalalalalala…

You’ve been so kind and generous
I don’t know why you keep on giving
For your kindness I’m in debt to you
For your selflessness–my admiration
For everything you’ve done
You know I’m bound–I’m bound to thank you for it

Lalalalalala… 10 times

Hey, hey
You’ve been so kind and generous
I don’t know why you keep on giving
For your kindness I’m in debt to you
And I never could have gone this far without you
For everything you’ve done
You know I’m bound–I’m bound to thank you for it

Lalalalalala…

Oh I want to thank you for so many gifts
You gave me love and tenderness
I want to thank you
I want to thank you for your generosity,
The love, and the honesty that you gave to me
I want to thank you, show my gratitude,
My love and my respect for you
I want to thank you

Oh, I want to thank you, thank you,
Thank you, thank you,
Thank you, thank you
Thank you, thank you,
Thank you, thank you,
Thank you, thank you,
Thank you, thank you,
Thank you.

I want to thank you, thank you,
Thank you, thank you,
Thank you, thank you,
Thank you, thank you…

Day 80 – OnePinky Student Shines, Part 2

Drum Roll Please.

The answer is revealed now…Kathleen shares the rest of her story…and how swimming makes her heart sing.

(for those of you who have no idea what I am referring to, go back and read yesterday’s post on Day 70, OnePinky Student Shines, Part 1.

Kathleen went off to her beloved pool and started her swim.  It’s her practice to check her watch starting with the first lap so she gets an idea of what kind of pace she’s on.  She noticed right off the bat that she was about 2 seconds faster that normal.  She then checked her watch at the 6-lap mark and again noticed a lower time than usual.  That’s when she thought she might have a very good swim that night.  By the time Kathleen made it to the half-mile point, she realized that it was actually possible, if she kept up this pace, and didn’t lose focus, that she could indeed break the 30 minute mark.  She swam that last half-mile repeating to herself, “Seize The Day” and “Eyes on the Prize”.  When she finally made it to the end and reached up to stop her timer, she was rewarded with the number 29:55.  She was proud and happy that she had achieved something that had once seemed so out of reach.

As I said earlier, Kathleen swims mainly for the joy of it.  She feels she will never give up swimming again (On her business card, under her name, it says “swimmer”).  And that her commitment to it, in spite of the fact that she’s not as fast as she was 20 years ago, rewarded her with a sense of accomplishment that will never go away.

So swim on Kathleen…I am so proud of you. :) :):)

And to all of us, move today in honor and reverence for our bodies. They matter, they count and they deserve to be moved and stretched.

As I always like to say, we came out of the womb kicking and moving.

The body knew what it wanted and needed right at birth.

Sending you Peace, Love and Movement.

XO, Laura
