Day 45 – OnePinky.com Meets A Not So Nice Canadian…

Dear Sweet Leah,

Loved the post with your words of wisdom about how my teaching has touched your life.

I had a wonderful gentleman over here today helping me with my computer. His name is Bob and he is from the Netherlands. He lives here in America now and I had the pleasure of talking to him today about his perceptions of being in America…

As I said he is from the Netherlands and lived in Norway for the last 6 years before the US. I have not been to either of those countries yet and was telling him how I long to travel again.

And I get to travel in my mind with having you Pinky’s all around the world. I just love that we are all over the globe. It is a gift.

Bob told me how much he enjoyed and appreciated “Leah’s BLOG!!!”. You are a rock star gal! I swear you are….

He told me he thought it was really important and great work that you,  Leah! are doing.

I felt so proud as he was sharing this with me. Bob said that when I called him for his computer services, he checked out my site and he felt really drawn to the www.NoDietingAllowed.com Blog.

He was going to share it with other women!

So now the funny part. I love people. I love people from all parts of the world and I do have a thing for Canadians. It is funny because I have spent so little time up in Canada and I think maybe I was Canadian in another lifetime. I love Canadians. And Yes I love Australians and Italians, Israeli’s, etc….and I just feel a connection with Canadians. Maybe because they are soooo close and they seem to be more awake than Americans in many ways. Just an opinion…and perception, not a fact.

So I send out the email yesterday, that was written straight from my heart, and in all the years I have been doing this work I have never been sworn at by an email I sent out.

Until Yesterday.

This woman wrote and said, “What a load of S#*t” in reply to my email. I was stunned and so bummed because she was Canadian. All those years of putting Canadians on a pedestal and suddenly, they were humans. HA HA.

Of course they are and I knew that but I had this moment of feeling so sad, cause she was from Ontario. Here is the catch, her town was Lowbanks. That speaks volumes, ha ha. (not really, just being playful!, could be the nicest town in Canada).

And she can totally think that my work is a load of you know what if she wants…she gets to have her opinion.

As I always remind myself, people despise Oprah and I think she has changed the world, in a really good way.

So. I write this with a big smile on my face laughing away….knowing that people are people all over the globe and I cannot please everyone. My goal is to attract those who line up with my message and work, knowing there is a place for everyone.

So to all the Canadians reading this, I still so love you all. And I appreciate that this woman gave me something to experience a whole stream of emotions about…and release it and come out laughing about it. Tee Hee…

Leah, you rock star you, thank you for sharing and shedding.

You are  light, a beacon, letting go, learning and loving.
