Day 40 – OnePinky Leads The Body Image Revolution….

Leah,

I want to see one of those outfits you describe. They sound very cool and hip. I especially love how your slippers sound. SO CUTE!

The outfits remind me in your description of bold, unique, fun, sexy. I love it.

No one has changed her look more than Madonna through the years. And I believe that one of the reasons she succeeded the way she did from the very beginning was by being different and being herself and not caring what others think.

Clearly Madonna has reinvented herself over and over and has done some really outrageous things and has not let others opinion of her stop her.

I admire her guts although she is not someone who I would claim as a friend. She does not strike me as someone who really cares about people. I hope I am very wrong about that and I know my feeling about her is just an opinion via observation, not the truth.

Those early photos of Madonna….kinda reminds me of how you describe yourself at your home.

I was thinking today about a story I shared about being reprimanded on a job because my goal was to make people feel good about themselves. It did not go over very well. People complained about me for being too personal and too nice. It cracks me up now when I think about it and yet at the time, it was so painful to attempt to spread love, self care and peace and get in trouble for it.

Speaking of Peace, look at this gorgeous quote Darcel from Canada who is in the Thursday morning group, sent me today. I just love it and love her as well. You got to meet her via the community. Darcel, like all the wonderful women in this Thursday group rock.

“Peace. It does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise, trouble or hard work.

It means to be in the midst of those things and still be calm in your heart.”

Isn’t that quote beautiful?

And did Tracy tell you about Glamour magazine in the USA and how they are calling forth a “Body Image Revolution”? Don’t you just love that? Ginger has told me since the beginning, ” Laura what will get OnePinky.com off the ground is your Pinky’s, not you, spreading the word. (and I want to qualify that by saying that it is not as if I am not marketing the company)  and in my gut I hear Ginger’s words and know she is correct. This is a grass roots efforts from women who are getting value like you and Tracy that will get this name OnePinky.com Body Image Revolution out there.

http://www.glamour.com/

Tracy is committed to writing a letter to the editor and Leah your blog post yesterday could be/would be a great letter to editor, the 2nd part of it…are you willing to team up with dear Tracy and get something to Glamour? No pressure, just a request and I will send this to the community and ask them to jump on in…

WHOOO HOOOO to getting OnePinky.com/Body Image Revolution out there. We have 4 -5 spaces left in Thursday class and would love to get those spaces filled up with women who need this…I will take new women up to the 3rd week.

Sending you light and love and gratitude.

Live, Learn, Let Go and LOVE! yourself and that formula my dear will be felt around the world.

I Love You, XO,

Laura

  1. Tracy says:

I believe in all humans capacity for compassion and love and have no doubt Madonna cares for others in her life. It is human to care and love. I am also so aware that we can’t know who these superstars really are due to the image that is put out there by all the magazines and tabloids or even the image they themselves put out there for their “brand”. I just had an experience where some women at my work were spreading rumors about me (very hurtful ones) and there was this very strange energy about it all. I was shocked to hear how my words and who I am was twisted to make it look like I thought I was “better than everyone else” and “the director’s favorite” and “that I am more special than anyone else in the agency”. WOW! How untrue is that to where I am coming from? It is so far from my truth! I am someone who can’t help to see the specialness in EVERYONE and reflect it back to them! It is one of the things I do. So, being on the other side of it, I am incredibly wary about the judgments we make of others when we don’t really know them. This is just to put this perspective out there…

    Much love and hugs,
    Tracy

  2. Laura says:

i love this my dear, love it.
i couched my judgement/opinion of Madonna by naming it for what it was…

I am very aware that my judgments are a reflection of my own wounds, not of the person/ thing I am judging. judging gets me no where either.

thank you for sharing your truth here my dear and as painful as this lesson was, and I know it was, bravo to you for going deeper and learning more about tracy!!!

you are a role model honey,
