Prayer Hands

I have this statue of prayer hands sitting on my desk.  They pull apart and I am able to put pieces of paper in them.  When I first saw this hands I was super excited.  I wanted a place to physically put my hopes and my intentions so that I can see them every day.  I continue to add more intentions and once they are reached I will take them down.  Through Laura’s Body Image Mastery Course I have learned that anything is possible.  This just reminded me that I need to hold to this when I feel the pull from the “not good enough” side.

My first intention and only intention for awhile was simply “150.”  This is the amount of pounds that some day I would like to weigh.  I choose this number with the thoughts that anything is possible.  The last time I weighed that number was in 8th grade.  I have lost weight before, 160 was my lowest, but for all the wrong reasons.  I want to weigh 150 for all the right reasons.  I want to be strong, fit, capable of anything.  I can’t wait til this day.  And every day I am getting closer!

My second intention was added when my husband and I became members at a Unity Church.  The membership card is actually what I put in my prayer hands.  The spiritual center leader said “You are only signing up for your own spiritual journey” about becoming members.  I loved this!  And yes, I am on a spiritual journey and feel wonderful being a part of this journey.  There is definitely not an end to this journey, but putting this membership card on my prayer hands reminds me that I am on this journey.  And specifically an active participant.

Today I added another intention, a post-it that says 3 hours and 40 minutes.  This is the time that I would have to complete a marathon in to qualify for the Boston Marathon.  A long time ago I made a personal promise that I was going to run Boston Marathon before I turned 30.  Well, this dream went away for a while, and has recently returned.   I am in a Marathon Training Class with the goal being to increase my speed over long distance.

Also, last night at class I felt my heart open up.  The teacher of the course is running his 100th marathon this June!  This joy or excitement went through my body as I thought about doing something like that in my lifetime.  I haven’t made any committments yet, but am aware that my body and spirit said Yes to this!  We will see.

How about you Pinkies?  Do you have intentions?  Where are you on your journey towards them?  And how do you make these intentions visible to you to remind you of your goals?

May there be peace within.

Love,

Gina

I love the thought of your prayer hands! My body weight goal is the same as your goal Gina and we will achieve it! My intentions/goals that I work on daily are to reach my target weight of 68Kg’s (150 Pounds), the last time I was at this weight was when I was 18. I am working on becoming a fulltime Day Trader and freeing Leigh and I from financial instability. Once I am trading fulltime I will be on a flight over to America to meet you Gina and my One Pinky friends.

    Love Leah
