Day 66 – SKIN

Hello to whomever is reading this and dear Leah.

I want to invite those of us who feel lost today with a new perspective.

None of us are lost, we are exploring…and that exploration will always lead us somewhere.

As I said on the call on Thursday, if we feels icky, (“lost” could be “icky”),  it is most likely our ego.

The opposite of lost is seeing things feeling refreshed and renewed like Leah so poetically pointed out and wrote yesterday,

“Today I had a completely different reaction to something that would have previously had me in a stressed out panic with high levels of anxiety clouding my judgment.  My reaction today – It Simply Is!”

That is progress my dear and loving progress. So lets focus on what we did right today, not what we did wrong….And as I write this, this message comes through…I am not trying to take people out of their state of mind, because lost can feel very real in  the moment. I do however, want to invite people to lean into some element of love when they feel out of control or lost…even if that means sharing it with someone else.

We can heal those scary states by accepting that is where we are in the moment,  knowing at all times that this is a journey of exploration.
I am not lost, I am exploring.

On another note, I went to the movies tonight to see a film that everyone should have to see. It is called “Skin” and it is so profound and so painful.

Skin is a 2009 biographical film about Sandra Laing, a South African woman born to white parents but was classified as coloured during the apartheid era.

This film goes where other films will not in looking at discrimination head on. This is a hard film to watch and yet the depth of it made me see how amazingly strong and resilient the human spirit is.

We can overcome alot and endure alot and heal from alot of pain. Our souls guide us to the truth of who we are and our bodies are miraculous machines.

I recommend this movie to everyone and I suggest you rent it one day when you can if it does not come to a movie theatre near you.

You can google it and I recommend you do some reading about the real life of Sandra Laing.

To our spirits and our gorgeous biggest organs, our SKIN. I say thank you!

Live, Learn and Let Go.

Why would we want to hold on?

I love you, XO

Laura
