Day 48 – Pinky’s, Prayers, and Peace

What a great OnePinky.com call we tonight and LEAH you were so missed. I especially wanted to shower you with love considering how challenging these last 4 days have been.

You are held in my heart always honey! And by the smaller community, 12 week course and larger community, OnePinky.com/c

And you were SO missed on the call.

Today was a great day in so many ways….and then I got news tonight that my dear friend has breast cancer.

We were anxiously awaiting the news all day and I was trying to distract myself and yet it was playing in the background.

I spent a lot of time today on this website. This organization has been a leader in supporting cancer research.  (Also on the site I was silently praying for all the women who have had/have breast cancer and for their loved ones.  On a lighter note, I was supporting and loving the shades and varieties of pink and all that Pink(y) Power!).

Another reason for us all to be aware of how important it is to take care of oneself. Not to say that everyone who gets cancer does not take care of themselves. Let’s face it though, there are a lot of people who are aware of the toll that their body takes on lack of self care…to those women and men, I say, start here, start now, start today, one small Pinky step to self love at a time.

Perhaps this prayer will help. I love it.

Meditation

Earth Mother, star mother,

You who are called by a thousand names,

May all remember

We are cells in your body

And dance together.

You are the grain and the loaf

That sustains us each day,

And as you are patient with our struggles to

learn, so shall we be patient

With ourselves and each other.

We are radiant light and sacred dark

-the balance-

You are the embrace that heartens

And the freedom beyond fear.

Within you we are born,

We grow, live and die -

You bring us around the circle

To rebirth,

Within us you dance

Forever.

~Starhawk, in Earth Prayers

Keep up the great work dear Leah. Stay well and be with it all.

Learn, Live, Let Go and Love

I love you, XO (and treasure you).

Laura

Day 44 – OnePinky.com Meets Glamour Magazine

Leah Honey,

Happy over the half way point!

Love your claiming your success. RIGHT ON!

So proud of you!

OK, I am so moved and touched by some of these letters to Glamour, I have to put aside my post today and share what India had to say.

WHOOOAAAA, She is amazing, Ken?  Yes in Hebrew…In honor of Leanne who shared her heart out on our Thursday call. She is moving through some major stuff and leaping off of cliffs. I am so proud of her as I am of you.

O.K.

India’s letter to Glamour and more are coming.

“Dear Editor,

When you published your photo of a “real” woman, I jumped at the chance to support your decision to show women of all shapes and sizes! And when you said the word “REVOLUTION”, I knew that I had to write to you! I am a member of One Pinky — Body Image Revolution, the brainchild and creation of Laura Fenamore, a woman with a mission and commitment to empower ALL WOMEN in loving who they are, no matter how they look on the outside. I am a 54 year-old woman that has battled with self-esteem issues and yo-yo dieting my entire life. Not until I met Laura did I realize that it has NOTHING to do with weight or eating, but it has EVERYTHING to do with LOVING YOURSELF from the inside out. Laura’s One Pinky has given me the tools and support to take control of my life and to feel REALLY GOOD about who I truly am!

I wrote in my blog on our site [OnePinky.com], something that pretty much sums up my feelings about Laura and what she is trying to accomplish…

“Who is Laura to us? Have you ever visited an area that you were unfamiliar with? A foreign country, perhaps?

Of course you have. And in preparation for your visit, you probably Goggled hotels or sites or talked with other people about what you might want to see or do. Maybe you even purchased a book to try to learn the language.

And then you go… it’s interesting, a little scary, but all in all, you get around okay and see some cool stuff.

Then you come home and someone says, “Did you see such & such? or Did you eat THERE? or I hope you went to that spot!” and suddenly your trip seems to have missed the mark and you feel a bit discouraged or at least miffed that you missed out on something that could really have helped you to have the trip of a lifetime.

My point is, Laura has been on that journey. She has figured out so much of it. She has marked the pitfalls. She has learned the ins and outs and knows where the locals eat! And she revisits it often and stays on top of it and relishes others experiences and learns from them as well. The journey is into the world of Loving Yourself. It’s a world that we thought we knew (have you been to Barnes & Noble lately?) but it’s a journey that we can be happier and more successful with if we have…

A TOUR GUIDE!

From now on I’ll picture Laura with a name tag that says, “Hello, I’m Laura” and giggle to myself when I imagine her saying, “We’re walking, we’re walking… No flash photography please.” Because until now, I thought I really had a handle on this foreign country business… but now I know that I did need an interpreter and a guide to really have a wonderful, creative experience!”

If you want a pioneer for your Revolution, Laura is someone that you need to know!

Most Sincerely Yours,

India Redman

Cerro, New Mexico”

Keep up your great work Leah. Your weight release, time management, Live Trading Account…all great work…

You are living your life full out, learning, leading (through your leadership) and letting go.

A winning combination.

Miss you gal, feels like forever since we spoke. :) :) We must do that soon.

Leah Honey,

HOW WAS THE MOVIE?

Did you go see it? I hope you loved it. Tell Mum hello from me.

And I can picture you and Taylah building your sand castle, all the details of that….seems relaxing and rewarding and a in the moment activity. You know?  Was it fun for you?

Don’t you love what Julie had to share on her blog in the community?  I saw what you wrote to her, how great. I am so proud of you Julie! (and I hope many more Pinky’s go share in her joy and her photos of her kids who are quite the lookers, those boys are gorgeous! and so is their Mum!) I bet we could fix one up with Taylah. Me being silly who is a little beauty too.

My day was a rollercoaster Leah. This class I am taking, well to say it is bringing up stuff is the understatement of the year. I had a minor meltdown today in class over stuff that I am sure comes natural for you Leah. Numbers and graphs and charts and math….My dear teacher kept saying, “Laura, don’t cry”. I just adore her and she means well and it is not always easy for people to deal with others tears and yet I just needed to cry…

Big girls do cry sometimes…and it is all part of my letting go of my deep inadequacies of not being a math, equation, #’s person. Again, all part of my journey and I am working through it “one pinky step at a time”.

May seem I cry a lot and I think it all in balance. I am not afraid to share about my meltdowns as I am human too.

Rita Hovakimian, someone I adore and look up to sent this message in her email and I wanted to share it with you Leah (and with the world).

I love Hawaii, it is near and dear to my heart….

“Bless everyone and everything that represents what you want!

To bless something means to give recognition or emphasis to a positive quality, characteristic or condition, with the intent that what is recognized or emphasized will increase, endure or come into being. This is one of the tenets of the Aloha philosophy.

The Aloha Philosophy:

1. IKE-The World Is What You Think It Is

2. KALA-There Are No Limits

3. MAKIA- Energy Flows Where Attention Goes

4. MANAWA-Now Is The Moment Of Power

5. ALOHA-To Love Is To Be Happy With

6. MANA-All Power Comes From Within

7. PONO-Effectiveness Is The Measure Of Truth

The Aloha Philosophy immediately reminds me of the Law of Attraction principles.
A law that states that what you focus upon expands……what you appreciate, appreciates! It delights me to see that these principles are universal, yet articulated in their unique way.”

Enjoy the words. Love you a ton.

Learn, Love and Let go,

XO,

Laura
