Day 43 – Wisdom and Notes about the Weather

Leah,

Today it is pouring in Northern California. And cold, way too cold for my taste:):)….and for some reason, our heater decided to break. And have I told you that I am cold bloodied and get cold very easily?

So today is a day to bundle up, write and reflect and I have done a lot of that.

I actually had some moments of feeling jealous, can you believe it? , YES JEALOUS! that you are below the equator and having warmer weather now. Silly things our minds will do. I just hover and listen and observe knowing I am exactly where I am supposed to be.

So I will share some thoughts and wisdom and call it a day.

The Dalai Lama writes,

I find hope in the darkest of days and focus in the brightest. I do not judge the universe.

A perfect quote as everything is an opportunity for growth and learning including the weather. It speaks volumes! A cannot think of a greater metaphor for life. Cold, heat, windy, sunny….like our moods. Hopefully we have more sunny than cloudy and whatever is happening is what is happening.

Another quote I read today which tied into the weather theme is by Martha Washington,

” I have learned from experience that the greater part of our happiness or our misery depends on our dispositions and not on our circumstances.”

AMEN to that Leah! We cannot control the outside world, the season, the weather, however, we can change our mind and set a course of action for our life (this blogging, the course, etc.) that has nothing to do with the outside world.

Love that.

And on the same token, no love from outside of us will truly heal the longing we all have for self-love, it must come from the inside of us. It is who we are, that part of our soul that as Ginger shared, “needs no protection”. Sure it is great to be told how loved we are and hold that in our hearts. I do believe that as we trust it in ourselves, we can receive it without any doubt and questioning.

I hope that is helpful and I hope you know how sincere my love for you is…and I trust that you receive it Leah! You are wise and so amazing.

And feel just how loving and wonderful you are. Cause you are!
